Although the Masía is surrounded by vineyards, don’t forget that we’re only 10 minutes from the coast, where a huge range of water sports is on offer, including sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing, kayaking and scuba diving. If you’re up for it, we recommend the nautical station in Vilanova and the water sports centres at the beaches in Sitges. There are also adventure sports companies that organise flights over the vineyards or mountain climbing excursions. If golf is more your thing, there are several golf courses in the area, in Vilanova i la Geltrú and Calella.
Natural parks
The Masía is surrounded by the natural parks of Garraf, Foix, Ordal and Olèrdola. Nearby natural beauty spots like the Les Dous springs, the Vilobí pools and the Foix reservoir are all worth a visit. You can explore the area on foot, taking in the scenery and nature. The natural parks around the Masía are perfect for climbing enthusiasts and hikers. The Gran Ruta 92.3 goes right by the door!
Walks
A ride through the vineyards on a conventional or electric bicycle is a great experience. If you don’t feel like pedalling, you can also explore the area on horseback; just 300 metres from the Masía is the Yeguada Vinyet equestrian centre, which offers horse riding for adults and children.
Cities
Barcelona is an easy day trip from the Masía. Gaudí’s spectacular legacy is a must-see – check out the Sagrada Familia, Güell Park, La Pedrera and La Casa Batlló, among others. But it’s not just the amazing architecture that will make you fall in love with Barcelona. Wandering down the Ramblas and the narrow streets of the Barrio Gótico before stopping for a beer and some tapas in one of the restaurants in La Barceloneta, the old fishing neighbourhood, is a real treat. The Masía is also very close to Tarragona, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its Roman archaeological complex.
Sea and beaches
The coves and beaches of the Costa del Garraf are just a stone’s throw from the Masía and make an excellent outing in the spring and summer months. This coastal area extends from the town of Gavà to Vilanova i la Geltrú, taking in Sitges. The Costa Dorada is on the way to Tarragona, and you’ll find some of the best beaches in Catalonia there, such as Canyadel and Muntanyans. One of our favourite beaches is Platja Llarga, just a few kilometres from Tarragona, where we recommend going for a delicious rice dish at Tòful de Mar o Mirall d’Estiu after your swim.
For the little ones
We also have a few recommendations of things to do with children. The Masía is very close to the famous Port Aventura theme park, Aqualeon water park and Les Deus Aventura, a park with open-air sports and acrobatic circuits for visitors of all ages. This is a great option for a family day out!
“The house was amazing, in excellent condition with all the comfort you would expect plus side benefits like the hilly surrounding trails and side roads that are perfect for morning/evening runs through the adjacent vineyards. In addition, the place was within really easy driving access from coastal cities like Sitges.”
